Segment I (1968-1979)

Gene Steiner (ORU 1971) has served in business development with several companies for the past five years. He is currently the director of Victory In Jesus, a nonprofit ministry. For decades, Gene was the media director and producer for major TV ministries and CEO of several ad agencies, including Creative Media, LLC (self-founded in 2001) and The Raymond Wallace Agency. He worked with CBN and Pat Robertson for seven years, was a Christian TV station manager in Denver, and has overseen multi-million-dollar ad campaigns and TV and radio airtime contracts for networks that broadcast the thousands of ministry programs he produced. Gene has traveled to seven countries and produced crusades televised LIVE on TBN from Nigeria and India. He has been an ordained minister of the Gospel since 1988. Gene taught media courses for Christ for the Nations Institute, Dallas for 8 years, and he served as Billy Joe Daugherty’s Media Director at Victory (Tulsa). He was on the ORU Alumni and Foundation boards in the 1990s and has been an active member of Gateway Church based in North Texas. After celebrating his 50-year marriage to Kathy Korell (ORU 1972), unfortunately Kathy passed away last summer. They have two grown children (Joy and Justin, both ORU alumni), and Gene has three grandchildren. Gene loves ORU and desires to see it continue to grow and thrive as a prominent charismatic Christian university educating the whole person.
