Program Overview
Take the next step to lead leaders. This program will prepare you for exemplary leadership as you learn from Christian professors alongside fellow students with a wide range of professional expertise from around the world. Your capacity to lead research-based change will accelerate as you apply your learning in your professional workplace and acquire the skills to lead with confidence.
Classes are taught in a hybrid, modular format consisting of 2½ days of face-to-face sessions, Thursday evening through Saturday afternoon, accompanied by online pre- and post-assignments. There is also the option to participate remotely in a live class via Zoom or by viewing the Zoom recording of a class on your own schedule.
Fall sessions are held in September, October, and November; spring sessions are held in January, February, March, and April. This 54-hour, non-cohort, program is designed to be completed in a minimum of three years, including dissertation. Admission is continuous, with program entry at any point in the fall or spring.
Degree Plan for Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration
An Ed.D. in Educational Leadership - Higher Education Administration will equip you to:
- Exemplify Godly leadership practices in higher education within diverse constituencies
- Drive higher education reform by drawing on global educational policy development, legal issues, and current research
- Formulate policy priorities and strategies using the process of policy formation and methodologies to assess education needs
- Establish administrative policies and educational practices based on theories of adult lifespan and student development
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of the governance board and leadership team in higher education institutions, with a focus on law, research, diversity, and policy
- Effectively complete financial management tasks associated with administration of a higher education institution that require knowledge of the associated laws, financial accounting and audit procedures, regulations, and policies
- Select and analyze research in order to design an applied research project, drawing on knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods, program evaluation, and reporting
