Scott Carr is a seasoned business executive with over 30 years’ experience in Computer Science and Information Technology Management, including 10 years of teaching technology at Tulsa Community College, the University of Tulsa and Oral Roberts University. He is a long-standing member of the Tulsa CIO forum and a member of the Oklahoma IT Symposium advisory committee. Scott also focuses on highlighting technology in Tulsa through Flywheel Tulsa, a not-for-profit organization he co-founded in 2022 that features the best of Tulsa technology, music, art, and food through strategically planned events.
Scott currently serves as the Director of Information Technology for the City of Broken Arrow. Prior to that, Scott held the position of U.S. Chief Information Officer for Clarion Events, a global events company based in London who had purchased PennWell, where he previously worked for 12 years as the Senior VP and Chief Technology Officer. In 2006, he was named ORU’s first Chief Information Officer.
Scott has a Masters degree in Information Technology from Capella University and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from ORU. He was awarded the Alumnus of the Year Award from the ORU Department of Computer Science and Mathematics for the 1999-2000 academic year.
